The western fast-food giant Subway planned to have more than 900 stores by 2015, said Thomas, general manager of Great China region, in an interview with CBN News when McDonald抯 recruited 70,000 employees and Burger King was to open 1,000 in 5-7 years.

Subway, which owned more locations than other fast-food chains, was slow in its expansion in China. Thomas said that there were about 318 Subway restaurants in China at present and this was the results of accelerated business development after he took the office. The food company opened nearly 70 in 2011 and 100 in the first six months this year.
